Employee screening and drug testing

We provide independent verification of candidate information. Our experienced, multilingual researchers expose potential recruits who fabricate academic or work experience, are financially vulnerable, give misleading reasons for leaving previous employment, or cover up gaps in their employment history.

Candidates enter their information online using our secure system, providing real-time management data to clients.

We are registered with the Criminal Records Bureau as an umbrella body and are authorised to conduct standard and enhanced disclosures. We also provide drug and alcohol screening in support of our clients' policies and can manage references on your behalf.

Situations we have uncovered include:

  • Candidates who have passed off forged certificates as authentic to their employers
  • Employees who do not reveal relevant criminal convictions
  • Candidates with adverse financial history

One candidate for an American investment bank stated that he had attended a prestigious UK university on undergraduate and postgraduate courses and provided copies of his graduation certificates to the HR department. The university’s Student Records department advised TRAG that the candidate had never been registered as a student at the university and was never awarded any qualifications. The certificates were found to be forgeries and further enquiries revealed that the candidate had attended a different university in the same city for four years, but left without graduating.
