Ukraine election: decision day approaches

As Viktor Yushchenko's presidential term nears its end, his five years in office are seen by many as a time of lost opportunities. It is likely that in February 2010, Ukraine will have a new president.

In an article written by Valery Shturmarevich, a Senior Associate within Risk Advisory's Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia practice in Moscow, he discusses the forthcoming election scheduled 17 January 2010. He looks at the current political scene and assesses some of the government's achievements of the past five years as well as its' failures.
